Health Insurance
Bradley University has made a continuing commitment to ensure the availability of health medical facilities for university students. There is a University Health Center (UHC) on campus where students receive treatment for minor illnesses and injuries at no direct cost.
For students that are no longer covered by their family or guardian medical plans, the university makes available a student insurance accident and sickness plan administered by Maksin Management Corp that will help defray the cost of such medical services as hospitalization, inpatient and outpatient care, x-rays and surgeons’ and doctors’ fees. International students on a student visa are required to have health coverage.
Two annual student plans are offered: basic ($240*) or enriched ($456*) benefits coverage. International students on a student visa must purchase the enriched benefits coverage unless proof of comparable coverage is demonstrated. Students enrolled for coverage may also cover their eligible dependents.
Please contact Maksin Management at 1-877-775-5430 or visit their website at http://www.maksin.com/BradleyU.html for additional information. You may view and download the plan brochure and premium rates. Please read the brochure carefully for an explanation of the benefits, exclusions and limitations of the plans. The site offers online features that include enrollment, waiver for international students, check account status and view claim status.

Tuition Insurance
With the level of education costs increasing, we have had a concern for the student who suffers a serious illness or accident and has to leave Bradley before the semester is complete. In many instances it means not only the loss of time invested in studies, but also the loss of the semester's costs.
We are pleased to advise you of an insurance program, the Tuition Refund Plan offered by A.W.G. Dewar, Inc., which will minimize the financial portion of the loss. This elective insurance plan provides coverage for tuition and housing charges. The tuition for academic year 2008-2009 will be $22,600.00 and the estimated housing charges will be $7,350.00.
This plan significantly extends and enhances the University's published refund policy. Even after the University's policy has expired, you are assured of a 100% refund throughout the term. This is especially beneficial when you are forced to withdraw and then return for a later term, as you will not have to pay to repeat lost credit hours. The chart below illustrates how the Tuition Refund Plan complements our refund schedule for tuition charges.
We are pleased to offer the Tuition Refund Plan as an option for students and parents. It is an inexpensive form of protection, and we urge that you carefully read the detail and coverage section concerning the plan. Should you decide to participate online, it is vital that you submit the application and payment before the opening day of classes. If you have any questions about the Tuition Refund Plan, please contact A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. at (617) 774-1555 or visit:
