Perkins Loans are campus-based federal loans which are awarded based on financial need as determined by FAFSA results. The interest rate is 5%. Repayment and interest accrual begins nine months after the student ceases to be enrolled at least half-time.
The first time a student receives a Perkins Loan while at Bradley University, the student borrower must complete Entrance Counseling and a Master Promissory Note before the loan can be finalized.
- The student may access the Online Entrance Counseling, consisting of a Borrower’s Rights & Responsibilities and a Student Questionnaire.
- Sign an electronic Master Promissory Note (e-MPN). After completing Entrance Counseling, the student will be directed to complete the e-MPN.
(Click to access the e-MPN directly).
For freshmen, completion of both the Entrance Counseling and the Master Promissory Note must occur within two weeks of orientation. Other first time Perkins Loan borrowers will be notified by mail or e-mail to complete the above online.
If a paper copy of the Master Promissory Note is preferred, please contact the Student Loan department at 309-677-2617 or by e-mail at loans@bradley.edu and a paper copy will be given to the student for completion during orientation.
