Billing Policies

Fall Semester Financial Course Load
Total course load at the end of the second week (Sept. 12, 2008) will be considered as the student’s course load base by the Controller’s Office for the semester. All additions will be figured from this base. This policy includes late sign up for mini or modular courses.

Mini Courses
All Semesters
For courses that meet less than a full semester (i.e. 8 weeks or 10 weeks), full tuition will be refunded for classes dropped on or before the first day of class. A 50% refund is available for a class dropped within three days of the first class session. No refunds will be available for classes dropped four days after the first class session or later.

Partial drops (reduction of class hours but remaining in school)*
Fall Semester

The full tuition will be refunded for full semester classes (i.e. 15 weeks) dropped by the end of the second week of classes, ending Sept. 12, 2008. There are no refunds for a class dropped after Sept. 12, 2008. Housing fees are not refundable.

Complete official withdrawal*

May 3-Week or May 8-Week Interim 2008:
A full refund, less $15 registration will be given if a student drops all hours on or before May 19. A 50% refund will be issued if a student drops all hours on or before May 22. No refund will be made for classes dropped after May 22.

Summer Session I 2008:
A full refund, less a $15 registration fee, will be issued if the student drops all hours on or before June 9. A 50% refund is issued if a student drops all hours on or before June 12. No refund will be made for classes dropped after June 12.

Summer Session II 2008:
A full refund less a $15 registration fee will be issued if the student drops all hours on or before July 15. A 50% refund is issued if a student drops all hours on or before July 18. No refund will be made for classes dropped after July 18.
      Housing fees are not refundable.

Fall Semester
Follow the withdrawal procedures for withdrawing after completing registration but before the official beginning day of university classes on August 27, 2008, a full refund less registration fee of $50 will be made for first-semester freshmen and parttime students. All other full-time students will be charged a registration fee of $100. When a student completes an Official Withdrawal from the university on or after the beginning day of university classes, tuition and room will be charged as follows:

  Withdrawal during 2nd week (ending Sept 12, 2008) 15%
  Withdrawal during 3rd week (ending Sept 19, 2008) 20%
  Withdrawal during 4th week (ending Sept 26, 2008) 25%
  Withdrawal during 5th week (ending Oct 3, 2008) 35%
  Withdrawal during 6th week (ending Oct 10, 2008) 40%
  Withdrawal during 7th week (ending Oct 17, 2008) 45%
  Withdrawal during 8th week (ending Oct 24, 2008) 50%
  Withdrawal during 9th week (ending Oct 31, 2008) 60%
  Withdrawal after Oct 31, 2008 100%
  Room  
  Charged on a prorated basis for each day.  
  Board  
  Charged on meal plan money used and overhead.  

No adjustment of tuition or room will be made for withdrawal after Oct. 31, 2008. Questions or appeals regarding refunds/charges should be directed to the Student Fees/Loans Manager, in care of the Controller’s Office. All payments will be processed on the date they are received. Refunds will be mailed to the student’s permanent home address.

* The date the drop is processed is the date used in computing fee adjustments. Refunds for dropping individual classes or refunds for withdrawal from the university cannot be made until 5 or 6 weeks after registration. See Academic Calendar for applicable dates.
