For most applicants, the FAFSA results accurately gauge how much the
family is able to pay for college. Circumstances sometimes exist which
are not captured by the FAFSA and are not reflected in the student's award.
Please review the following situations:
2008 household income is less than 2007 due to job loss, retirement,
loss of social security benefits, or loss of child support.
A parent will be enrolled at least half-time in college in the 2008-2009
academic year.
Parents will pay private elementary or secondary school tuition for
other children in the household during the 2008-2009 academic year.
Parents divorced in 2007, but have/will file a joint federal tax
return in 2007.
Parents paid medical or dental expenses that exceeded 10% of their
2007 income.
If any apply to your family or you have other circumstances to be considered,
