Caterpillar
Scholarship for Employee Dependent Children
Caterpillar has established
a special scholarship fund at Bradley University, as part of the
company's commitment to the Centennial Campaign, to benefit the
dependent children of Caterpillar employees, retirees, and deceased
employees. These scholarships are funded by Caterpillar through
annual contributions from the Caterpillar Excellence Fund. The specific
amount of each scholarship will be determined by Bradley's Office
of Financial Assistance up to $2,500 per scholarship recipient.

CEFCU
MEMBER APPRECIATION SCHOLARSHIP 2010-2011
CEFCU (Citizens Equity
First Credit Union) has a long history of assisting its membership
in securing adequate financial support for higher education.
CEFCU recognizes the benefits to the entire community when opportunities
for a college education are within the reach of deserving and talented
students. In recognition of CEFCU's commitment to higher education
and Bradley University's ongoing educational excellence, the CEFCU
Member Appreciation Scholarship has been established.
The completed application
must be submitted by March 1, 2010, to: Office

PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYORS ASSOCIATION
The Illinois Professional
Land Surveyors Association (IPLSA) offers the following 3 scholarship:

The recipient must be
an Illinois resident attending an Illinois school.

FEDERATION ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP
Awarded to Jewish college
and post-graduate students for study in:
Medicine
The Rabbinate
Education
Social Service
Law
Mathematics
Engineering
Communications
Health Care
Jewish Communal Service
Arts/Sciences
Jewish Studies
Educational scholarship
funds from the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago are available
for college and graduate students for the 2010-2011 academic year.
Approximately $500,000 is available for Jewish students who are
identified as having promise for significant contributions in their
chosen careers, and are in need of financial assistance for full-time
academic programs primarily in the helping professions.
ELIGIBILITY:
Academic requirements
include:
- Graduate-level enrollment in a "helping profession"
program, such as medicine, human services, the rabbinate, or Jewish
communal service;
- Or vocational or undergraduate training in helping sectors requiring
no post-graduate education for employment, such as education or
nursing;
- Or mathematics and engineering, or other sciences;
- Or performing/fine arts;
- Or communications at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign;
- Or law, in the helping sector.
Legal domicility in the
greater Chicago metropolitan area, or in some cases, Cook County
or Northwest Indiana. Refugees or asylees are encouraged to
apply, as citizenship is not a prerequisite.
Jewish Vocational Service
administers the scholarship program and personally interviews all
applicants before April 20, 2010 at one of its many offices throughout
the Chicago metropolitan area.

- ILLINOIS DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS
Our essay contest gives
students the opportunity to honor a leader who has made an impression
upon the student and has made a significant difference in their
community. Any current Illinois high school junior or senior
may nominate by essay someone for special recognition. Nominees
must be still living and must have been born in, have lifed in,
or currently live in the student's Congressional District in Illinois.
In honor of Abraham Lincoln, the Lincolnland Legends nominees should
reflect the characteristics that Lincoln demonstrated as one of
our nation's greatest leaders.
There are a total of 19
winners in the state, and our top scholarship winner will receive
a $12,000 scholarship. All scholarships will be presented
at the Lincolnland Legends Celebration Gala at the Abraham Lincoln
Museum in Springfield ( transportation stipend included) on April
10, 2010. Students must attend to receive their award.
Applications must include
the application form (available on our website, www.illinoisdollarsforscholars.org,
and included in this packet) and an essay of 1,000 - 1,500 words.
Applications will be judged on: the demonstration of the nominee's
connection to Illinois, the description of the nominee's accomplishments
and leadership, the description of what the nominee has done to
warrant admiration, the description of how the student will emulate
the legend and how the legend inspires the student to become a legend
him or herself, and the overall persuasiveness, inspirational value,
and grammar of the essay by a panel of judges whose decision will
be final. Five copies of both your application and typed application
form must be submitted. Any entry that does not conform to
these requirements will be disqualified.

TALBOTS
SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION
In keeping with its long-standing
tradition of helping women succeed, the Talbots Charitable Foundation
is proud to present the 2010 Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund and
the inaugural Nancy Talbot Scholarship Award for perseverance and
ingenuity, which is presented in memory of the founder of Talbots.
This program empowers women to enrich themselves through learning
and achieve a college education later in life.
Completely re-imagined,
the Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund will award $180,000 in college
scholarships for the 2010 academic year, including ten $15,000 scholarships
and one $30,000 scholarship to an extraordinary finalist demonstrating
courage, conviction and an insatiable entrepreneurial spirit.
A panel of accomplished
women will help select the top finalists, including: Christa Carone,
Vice President Marketing, Xerox; Jean Chatzky, financial expert;
Barbara Corcoran, founder, The Corcoran Group; Kelly Corrigan, author;
Dayle Haddon, L'Oreal spokesperson and author; Karen Harvey, CEO,
Karen Harvey Consulting; Dr. Pamela Peeke, nutrition expert; Lesley
Jane Seymour, Editor-in-Chief of MORE Magazine; and Trudy Sullivan,
President and CEO of The Talbots, Inc.
