Caterpillar
Scholarship for Employee Dependent Children
Caterpillar has established
a special scholarship fund at Bradley University, as part of the
company's commitment to the Centennial Campaign, to benefit the
dependent children of Caterpillar employees, retirees, and deceased
employees. These scholarships are funded by Caterpillar through
annual contributions from the Caterpillar Excellence Fund. The specific
amount of each scholarship will be determined by Bradley's Office
of Financial Assistance up to $2,500 per scholarship recipient.

CEFCU
MEMBER APPRECIATION SCHOLARSHIP 2008-2009
CEFCU (Citizens Equity
First Credit Union) has a long history of assisting its membership
in securing adequate financial support for higher education.
CEFCU recognizes the benefits to the entire community when opportunities
for a college education are within the reach of deserving and talented
students. In recognition of CEFCU's commitment to higher education
and Bradley University's ongoing educational excellence, the CEFCU
Member Appreciation Scholarship has been established.
The completed application
must be submitted by March 1, 2008, to: Office

INDEPENDENT
ACCOUNTANTS' ASSOCIATION OF ILLINOIS - SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION
The Independent Accountants
Association of Illinois Scholarship Foundation will again this year
present three (3) $1,000 awards to residential college students
throughout the State of Illinois who are attending an Illinois college,
junior college, or university.
Students interested in
pursuing a career in the field of accounting should complete the
application provided with this letter. Photocopies of the
application are acceptable. The application may be printed
off of our website at www.illinoisaccountants.com.
The completed application should be forwarded to IAAI Executive
Office, PO Box 1506, Galesburg, IL 61402-1506 prior to June
30, 2008, along with transcripts and letter of recommendation.
Winners will be selected prior to September 1, 2008, and will be
notified by mail. All participating schools will also be advised
of the winners.
MIDWEST
ROOFING CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION, INC SCHOLARSHIP
The MRCA Foundation was
established in 1987 as a nonprofit corporation in order to provide
financial assistance to students interested in pursuing a career
in the construction industry.
The Foundation was founded
with an initial grant from Midwest Roofing Contractors Association,
Inc. (MRCA). The Foundation operates and exists solely on
the basis of donated funds from voluntary and fund-raisers.
Eligibility;
All candidates must be
undergraduate or graduate students (a) enrolled in an accredited
university, college, community college, vocational or trade school
and (b) pursuing a curriculum leading to a career in the construction
industry; or high school seniors provisionally accepted as a student
at such an educational institution and expressing an intent to pursue
such a curriculum.
Scholarship criteria:
- A fully-completed application form, in triplicate;
- A written statement from the education institution where the
undergraduate or graduate work will be undertaken, indicating
provisional acceptance;
- Official transcripts of all high school and college records;
- Three letters of recommendation, submitted by persons at least
18 years of age who are not related to the candidate. Only
one letter of recommendation may come from a Director of MRCA,
and no letter may come from a Director of the MRCA Foundation
Scholarship Awards:
The number and amount
of scholarships awarded by the MRCA Foundation will be determined
by the Foundation's Board of Directors.
Scholarship recipients
will be selected on the basis of:
- Academic performance;
- Employment experience;
- Financial need;
- Letters of recommendation;
- Demonstrated desire to pursue a career in the construction industry.
All persons, irrespective
of race, gender, creed or national origin, who satisfy the eligibility
requirements and make timely application, will be considered for
a scholarship award.
Deadline:
Entries , including all
required information, must be postmarked no later than June 20 to
be considered for the subsequent academic year. All entries

ASCO
NUMATICS SCHOLARSHIP
ASCO Numatics, the world's
leading manufacturer of flow control and pneumatics solutions, is
proud to announce the availability of new scholarships for engineering
students in industrial automation-related disciplines.
We will award two merit-based
scholarships of $5,000 each to exceptional undergraduate and graduate
students pursuing a career in manufacturing and processing engineering.
Additionally, ASCO Numatics
will make $1,000 grants to the engineering departments of the colleges
in which the winners are enrolled.
Applicants must be enrolled
full-time in an undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering,
instrumentation, systems, electrical, mechanical, or automation
discipline at an accredited U.S. educational institution for the
2008/2009 academic year. At the time of application, they
must have completed at least their sophomore year in a bachelor's
degree program, have at least a 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale, and be a
U.S. citizen or legal U.S. resident.
ASCO Numatics will present
the scholarship awards at the IAS Expo "08, October 14-16,
2008 at the Reliant Center in Houston. The ASCO Numatics award
presentation will be part of the annual ISA Young Automation Professionals
(YAPFEST) event on October 14, 2008. ISA hosts YAPFEST for
automation professionals between ages a8 and 30.

PEORIA
CITIZENS COMMITTEE FOR ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY, INC. - COMMUNITY ACTION
SCHOLARSHIP
The following is the eligibility
criteria for applicants interested in applying for Community Action
Scholarship funds for 2008. Applicants must have their completed
Scholarship Application along with all of the required attachments
turned into Community Action Agency by July 18, 2008.
- Applicant(s) must be income eligible under DCEO/CSBG income
eligiblity guidelines;
- Applicant(s) must be a resident of Peoria County;
- Funds must be used to secure formal or occupational training
at an educational institution accredited in the State of Illinois
- Applican(s) must be pursuing short-term training (2 years or
less) in occupational skills, general post secondary education
or in exceptional circumstances consideration will be given to
applicant for general education.
- Applicant(s) must have demonstrated positive community/school
involvement;
- Students applying for a scholarship who have completed one year
of college education or training must have a 2.5 grade point average.
Applicants must provide an official college transcript.
Note: All eligible
applicants will be interviewed prior to scholarships being awarded.
